New Meadham Kirchhoff Autumn/Winter 2012-13 Nails

If you recall, I did a blog post about Meadham Kirchoff's super kawaii Spring/Summer collection back in September. Did you know the nails that the models wore during the show became so popular that they went on to be sold for retail at Top Shop? Although, I wish the designers had chosen a more ethical and less shady company to sell their designs with, I still think they were super cute and would probably buy them from a third party seller.

These are old, but still very cute. I just had to share these cute designs. If I'm not mistaken, these Kimonos are called Yukatas. It's like a casual type Kimono, and it's more common to see women in Japan wearing Yukatas than the traditional style Kimonos. Chocolate Berry Cheesecake

I made a Chocolate Biscotti Berry Cheesecake this past weekend. It was the first time I made a flavored Cheesecake like this. It was really simple... a lot more simple than the picture makes it look.

The filling is just 2 packages of Philadelphia Cream Cheese, 2 eggs, 3/4 cup of sugar, and 1 tsp of vanilla. The crust is a homemade crust I made out of 4 crushed up Chocolate Almond Biscotti cookies with about 3 or 4 tablespoons of cold butter. Before I popped the cake into the 325 degree oven, I spread a layer of Raspberry Preserves on the top. The cake takes about 45 minutes to fully cook through. Be sure to test it with a toothpick before you take it out of the oven. If the toothpick comes out clean, that means it's done. After the cake cools, I spread a layer of Black Berries and Raspberries on top.

That's it! Simple Cheesecake with layers of flavor! ;)

You will be the neighborhood genius with this recipe!

The fluffy center is just made of a Meringue topping that has been frozen then dipped in the tempered chocolate. After they are dipped, you will want to pop them back in the fridge so that the chocolate can harden and hold it's shape. Tempered chocolate can take a few hours to harden back up.

Nutella Milkshakes

My last Nutella recipe I posted on the blog was a huge hit. sassyNpunk fans on facebook and twitter were reposting the recipe like crazy and commenting on how much they loved it.... can't go wrong with chocolate, right? Well, I thought I would do a follow up recipe. Since the last Nutella drink I shared with you was hot, I thought it would be nice to post a cold drink recipe to balance it out. Therefore, I give you my very own variation of the Nutella Milkshake!

The following recipe is just my own personal variation. You can tweak this recipe to your taste and thickness. Add as much Nutella, milk, ice cream, or whatever you want to it. It's up to you. I try to keep things simple, but the sky is the limit with this drink!

What you will need:
a blender
2 heaping table spoons of Nutella
5 cups of Vanilla Ice Cream
1 1/2 cups of milk, heavy cream, or half & half (whatever you have on hand)
**Yields 4 servings

Directions:
Add everything to the blender and blend. I recommend putting the milk in first b/c the ice cream will probably be too heavy to blend and the blade will get stuck. You will probably have to take the lid off and stir it a few times in between blending to help get it moving. This drink is super rich and VERY THICK. The amount of milk you add to the drink is really up to you and how thick or thin you like your milkshakes. The toppings you put on this drink are only limited to your creativity & imagination ;)

I saw these cute cookies on Tumblr today, and I immediately knew they had to be featured on the Sassy blog! Ya know that feeling you get when you see something and you just think in your head "That's the one! That's definitely the one!". Well that's how I felt when I saw these. This is such a cute and unique idea. I have honestly never seen this done before, so I was particularly impressed with the idea.

The steps and directions for this cookie seems a little drawn out and exhausting, so I'm not going to go to the trouble of posting all of it. I've got a lot of work to do, so here is the link to the recipe - click!

Nutella Hot Chocolate

This is not your mama's hot chocolate recipe! I must say that Nutella hot chocolate is the best holiday drink I have ever tasted. Plus it gets extra points for not being seasonal, you can enjoy this drink all year round without worrying about the ingredients being unavailable. The hazelnut undertones are obviously what gives this drink the upper hand against other hot beverages, and with just one sip you will see why! However, I don't recommend drinking this on a regular basis! It's VERY FATTENING!

I make mine in the microwave in about 1.5 minutes...it's waaay faster than heating it on the stove, but whatever you prefer is fine. The following is my own variation of the recipe, but you can tweak it to your taste.

All you need:

1 cup (or favorite mug) of Whole Milk

2 tablespoons of Nutella

Mini Marshmallows

Directions are self explanatory. Heat your milk up. I heat my milk in 30 second increments to avoid making a mess. Take milk out of the microwave and spoon in your Nutella.... it will melt right off the spoon. Top with marshmallows, and voila!

Jessica Happy Family Doll

I was surfing Flickr one day, and I came across a picture of this doll holding a baby. Looked pretty normal at first, but more photos revealed that this was a very special doll that had just given birth! ;)

This is the Jessica Happy Family Doll and it looks very similar to a Barbie Doll, right? Well, it's not a Barbie! Don't get it confused because that would be very insulting to Jessica, who is clearly a sophisticated family oriented lady.

I think this doll is really cool! Notice the belly which swivels back and forth between pregnacy and post pregnancy! That's something you don't see everyday. Plus, I think this doll is a good choice for young girls because it gives them a chance to see what the female body is capable of without being weird or crude. Don't get me started on some of the new "body functional" baby dolls on the market that will happily leave a dump on your floor for entertainment. What's fun or educational about that? I'm pretty sure a kid already knows how to take a crap, so yea, these crapping and pissing babies need to stop being made. I think I even saw one a while ago that is supposed to suck your boobs?!?! Yea, you get where I'm going with this right?

Using a muffin pan as a serving dish is an awesome idea for several reasons! Kids will love it, adults will love it, it looks awesome and fun, plus it's something you probably already have in your kitchen! I think if you put some holiday liners in each of the cups that would make it look more presentable ;)

The 2,200-square-foot four-bedroom yellow house was built by Kaufman and Broad Home Construction as a nationwide sweepstakes organized by FOX and Pepsi. How'd they do it? Well, for starters, by watching more than 100 episodes of the show, obsessing over 7,200 color swatches (before actually settling on 25), and ultimately choosing 1,500 Simpsons-themed styling props, from Duff Beer cans to the living room's sailboat painting. Part of an affordable-housing community—not Evergreen Terrace but still appropriately named Springfield—the house cost Kaufman $120K to build. And here's the extra-depressing part: the retired factory worker from Kentucky who won the sweepstakes decided, instead, to take the $75K payout instead of the house itself. In 2001, after being stripped of its Simpsons likeness, it was sold to another owner."

All I have to say about this is post is that the guy who took the money instead of the house didn't deserve to win the sweepstakes! I bet this house would be worth a lot more today. What a loser!

While Gemma Correll's shifty eyed kitties remain anonymous, they're often accompanied by their Pug friend, Mr. Pickels. Most notably their enthusiam about dogs ;) Is Pusheen really the only cat that is able to get along with dogs? Gemma's comical kitties are easy to love because they keep things exciting with daily Flickr and blog updates!

Basil Farrow:

The very round and fuzzy Basil Farrow is the cat child of sassyNpunk friend, La Carmina. Basil is a pure bred Scottish Fold Cat and is a superstar in his own right. Basil has been featured in magazines like the LA Times and the Village Voice, just to name a few, and has even been featured on Animal Planet! This cat was definitely born to be a star, just look at that face!

If Gemma's comics look familiar to you, it's probably because you've seen her work featured in clothing stores and online retailers around the world! Candy Corn Mousse

Throwing a little get together tonight? Then I have the perfect last minute Halloween treat for you! These Candy Corn Mousse Cups are not only decadent, but adorable too!

Ingredients
1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
½ cup powdered sugar
¼ cup milk or cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 small container (8 oz.) Cool Whip, thawed
orange and yellow food color
candy corn
Directions
Beat cream cheese in the bowl of a stand mixer until fully smooth. Slowly add powdered sugar, add milk and then vanilla. Continue mixing about 1 minute on medium speed. Fold cool whip into cream cheese mixture; stir until fully combined. Scoop about 1/3 of the cheesecake mousse into a bowl; mix with orange food coloring. Color another third of the mixture yellow. Leave the remaining third white. Beginning with the yellow mousse, pipe or spoon the mixture into each glass. Repeat with the orange and white. Garnish with candy corn.
Yield: 8 mini servings.

This place is so fancy, I feel like I'm spending money just browsing their site.
